The RS Initiator Switch is installed outdoors where required by code and is wired to the MPPT Disconnect RS unit. There is a Xanbus connection to Schneider Conext devices in the network to signal the charge controller to turn off when there is a rapid shut down event. A rapid shutdown does not open the manual DC disconnect, the circuit will go dead from the charge controller and module devices shutting down.
NOTE: Because the rapid shutdown uses the Xanbus network the MPPT Disconnect RS and RS Initiator Switch will not work with other charge controllers.
